The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Finance function for UCP of Maine including but not limited to payroll, accounts payable and financial recording and reporting. This includes adhering to established policies and procedures, developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information and managing all Finance staff, ensuring compliance and task completion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ experience.
- Supervisor experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff members.
- A valid State of Maine driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete all required financial entries on a daily, weekly, monthly basis as required to ensure accurate financials statements.
- Complete monthly financial statements for all programs and agency in a timely manner.
- Maintain agency cash flow spreadsheet in order to ensure effective decision-making related to expenditures.
- Maintain and reconcile all agency bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain financial tracking of all UCP grants communicating status with appropriate programs periodically.
- Take a leadership role in the annual agency financial audit ensuring responsiveness and completion of tasks by due dates.
- Ensure compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and filing requirements.
- Provides direct supervision of Finance Associates.

- Hold staff accountable to compliance with all state and federal regulations and licensure requirements.
- Assures a safe working environment.
- Accurately and in a timely manner send all personnel documents to Human Resources for filing.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the field, and actively participate in professional development activities and trainings to enhance the knowledge and skills necessary for the highest level of performance.
