Our client, a multinational company with operations across the US, Canada, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist. This role will support the financial operations of the US and Canada and offers a great opportunity for growth within the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, including bank reconciliation, accounts receivable, vendor payments, and monthly closing processes. The company’s headquarters are in Aventura, FL, with a hybrid schedule of two in-office days each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and reconcile multi bank accounts.
- Oversee accounts receivable and collections, including credit checks for new customers.
- Manage vendor payments and ensure timely and accurate transactions.
- Handle month-end closing procedures and ensure financial data is current by the 3rd business day.
- Conduct accruals for potential liabilities, ensuring accurate reflection of financial obligations.
- Administer and maintain the fixed assets template for asset management.
- Reconcile and ensure compliance with sales tax across various states, including state registration.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations on a monthly basis for US and Canada operations.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing reports to balances.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end audit work papers.
- Perform ad hoc analysis, generate financial reports, and assist with journal entries.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new accounting processes and systems.
- Support other accounting tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting role.
- Experience with Business Central ERP software.
- Previous experience in a multinational corporate environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
