Position Summary:
The Commercial Procurement/Estimator Support is a support role to the Commercial Procurement Manager and the Senior Commercial Estimator, assisting with relevant job functions for both the pre- and post-contracted projects for commercial roof mount, carports/canopies, and ground mount solar PV projects. The position is highly focused on solicitation and review of proposals with material vendors and subcontractors, focusing on attention to detail and communication. The fundamental understanding of the parts and pieces that make up electrical systems is an important component of this position. This role will be a collaborative team player with strong communication skills and well-organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing/Processing bids, proposals, quotes, and requests for quotes
- Communicate bids, proposals, quotes, and estimates to Procurement, Sales, Design, and Operations teams.
- Writing/Processing purchase orders for job site deliveries and assisting with major material purchases in coordination with the Commercial Operations Team.
- Track orders as they progress through manufacturing, shipping, and final delivery
- Assist Operations and Sales teams with sales, estimating, and procurement logistics
- Interpret plan sets and develop material and labor scope of work
- Create project cost estimates using industry-specific software
- Evaluate as-built plan sets/financial reports and update project metrics
- Develop and maintain estimating models, data tables, and key metrics documentation
- Maintain a professional relationship with vendors and subcontractors

Physical Demands and Work Environment:- Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job it is required to: stand/walk/sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
