Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Support funding and disbursement processes.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and post close analysis.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Master’s degree in accounting a PLUS.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle several tasks in a high-volume, high-paced environment.
- Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP’s, IF statements, Pivot tables) required.
- Candidate must have experience in QuickBooks and NetSuite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Responsible and dependable with a polite and professional manner.
- Equipment leasing experience a PLUS.
- 6+ Accounting experience.
