Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating the daily workflow of transcription filing, record processing to ensure that discharge records are received, properly prepped, properly analyzed and assigned to the appropriate physician for completion, ER/OP processing, OPS processing, assembly timeliness. Physician suspension and auto-authentication, as well as reviewing the medical records after completion by physicians to determine if all deficiencies identified have been cleared. To ensure compliance with the Medical Staff Bylaws and TJC standards regarding record completion and timeliness.
Minimum Requirements
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred
- Associates Degree in Health Information Management required
- Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management preferred
- Previous technical and supervisory experience required
- Two (2) years in a medical records department preferred
- Familiar with laws affecting medical records
- Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with internal and external customers, using above average verbal and written communication skills
