Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be actively involved in accounting functions related to day-to-day operations of the business as well as month-end and year-end closing. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting duties including, but not limited to:
- Makes daily bank deposits.
- Issues patient refunds.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll.
- Opens and distributes mail.
- Downloads daily bank activity and provides to billing teams.
- Reports and files sales and MNCare tax payments.
- Completes full-cycle AP processing, including weekly check/ACH run.
- Ensures proper accrual entries are made for vendor invoices.
- Makes charges on company PCards; matches invoices and records transactions.
- Processes 1099’s and unclaimed property recording.
- Creates, documents, and reviews journal entries.
- Generates JE templates for the month.
- Provides monthly financial reports to management and billing teams.
- Creates quarterly AP aging file.
- Pulls bi-weekly employee PCard transactions and saves receipt images to drive.
- Assists with month-end close.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with emphasis in accounting strongly preferred.
- 2-3 years of prior Staff Accountant experience required.
- Prior healthcare field experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong experience reviewing and analyzing financial data with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure for month-end deliverables.
- Computer skills – Intermediate Excel, Word, and Outlook required.

Compensation & Work Schedule:
- Full-Time: 40 hours/week
- Day Shift: Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM; no evenings or weekends.

Pay: $63,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
