Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a Manager Mission Assurance Level 1 to support on-site at our Rocket Center, West Virginia location.
NGDS's Missile Products Division is seeking a manager for Mission Assurance Engineering at our Allegany Ballistics Lab (ABL) location in Rocket Center, WV. ABL develops and manufactures a broad range of products, primarily for defense, with a focus on tactical solid rocket propulsion. This technical management position oversees a team of Mission Assurance Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of Mission Assurance Engineers
- Provide leadership and development support to team members
- Analyze data and drive process improvements
- Review and/or develop inspection plans based upon statistical methods
- Use Lean tools such as risk assessment, 8D, DFMEA and/or PFMEA
- Be a liaison with DCMA
- Assure established policies and procedures are being followed
- Manage group staffing to meet workload
Skills Needed
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team
- Ability to make sound technical decisions
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Position Requirements
- BS or higher degree in STEM
- Must be a US citizen
- At least 6 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Experience Preferred
- Able to use custom manufacturing software (i.e. Solumina) to maintain quality records, traceability, etc.
- Lean Six Sigma training and certification
Salary Range
$99,400 - $149,000
