In this exciting role as a Principal Accountant within our Financial Systems team, you will own the global SAP financial close in partnership with the regional teams. The person will manage processes across multiple areas of finance and partner with internal automation and reporting teams to enhance our capabilities. They will build relationships with the SSC’s, IT, Global Process owners, and Consolidations, among others to move us forward in an ever-changing environment.
A Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Lead the global SAP Month End Closing:- Ensure closing is delivered accurately and on time.
- Utilizing Redwood to manage the tasks & closing. Partner with automation team to enhance processes.
- Lead month end closing issues (Gemba) meetings.
- Identify and support internal controls / SOX controls.
- Support GL interface process.
- Manage SAP FX revaluation & translation process including global reconciliation.
Partner with global RTR team:- Support the efforts to shorten the financial SAP month end close.
- Closing communication to all levels of the organization.
- Partner with external reporting & consolidations on Policy 801, General Ledger accounts.
- Support banking systems and related processes (Autobank/ASM/Reval).
- Support semi-annual Autobank upgrade working with IT and OTC.
Provide support on miscellaneous activities:- Support and help coordinate the finance master data updates/changes (GL Accts, Profit Centers, Cost Centers, support WBS, Internal Orders, Activity types).
- Advise on the design and development of new financial systems process solutions.
- Support new SAP implementations, as needed.
- Assist the SSC team with supporting finance questions/requests (escalation).
- Monitor Service Now finance support tool and work with SSC teams to manage the process/report results.
- Build relationships with partners (IT, SSC's, Global Process owners, Consolidations, etc.).
Must Have: Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (OR Advanced Degree with 5+ years).
Nice to Have:- Detailed knowledge of Accounting practices (GAAP).
- Understanding of complex processes across multiple systems and facilities.
- Experience with Excel (Pivot, Formulas, Charts).
- Understanding of complex software and information technology solutions and the ability to apply to site/business needs.
- Experience with an ERP system (i.e. SAP preferred).
- Experience with month end closing in a large organization.
- Finance/Accounting Knowledge.
- Understanding of SAP modules that integrate with GL including Sales/AR, Purchasing/AP, and Autobank.
- Experience with reporting.
- Automation capabilities and knowledge of automation tools are considered a big plus.
