This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule: Home -3 days/Office -2 days from our Timonium, MD location AND our new unlimited vacation policy.
Reporting into the Controller and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Analyst will perform various FP&A efforts to deliver relevant and insightful business analysis that enable effective decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Define financial situation by completing quantitative analyses.
- Evaluate optional plans by identifying outcomes and potential financial returns.
- Provide expertise to improve Market intelligence gathering expertise.
- Recommend financial actions by assessing options in relation to organization goals.
- Prepare internal reporting by collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining information.
- Work with the Controller and CFO to build the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
- Work with the Controller to identify areas to improve profitability and financial performance.
- Perform analysis of monthly actual financial statement variances and actual business performance levels.
- Perform analysis of sales profitability by product line and customer.
- Oversee variable compensation reporting and plan management.
- Produce various ad hoc analyses as necessary including management and assessing of capital project investments.
- Serve as a champion for cost management and waste reduction across the company by monitoring and reporting key operational metrics to improve productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of FP&A experience in a mid-sized company
- Outstanding analytical skills and a proven ability to connect data analysis with business issues and decisions.
- Strong Excel, modelling and other business intelligence tool skills
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle internal and external pressure within tight timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with senior leadership effectively.
- Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or related business field preferred.
