JOB SUMMARYOur innovative and growing company is looking for experienced candidates to fill the role of Senior General Ledger Accountant on our expending team. If you are looking for an exciting and rewarding place to work, please look at the list of qualifications below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare monthly SOX complaint journal entries and accruals
- Record fixed assets and maintain related depreciation/amortization schedules
- Work proactively and cooperatively with other team members and members of management
- Maintains general ledger accuracy by monthly account reviews/reconciliation.
- Perform month end close, ensuring accurate results are delivered by deadlines
- Management of cash and credit card application & related bank reconciliations
- Inventory analysis & account reconciliation
- Research, prepare, and perform audit requests for internal and external auditors
- Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information/operational analysis using various reporting tools
- Other duties as assigned by the Division Controller
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Supervise accounting staff when necessary
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA/MBA a plus
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger & reconciling GL to sub-ledgers
- Exposure and proficiency with high level ERP systems (Infor, SAP, Oracle, Great Plains, MS Dynamics)
- Superior analytical and modeling skills including advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports
- Demonstrates full understanding of all month-end processes and calculation files and underlying accounting concepts
- Be a proactive problem solver with the ability to think outside the box, arriving at creative and effective recommendations for improvements and enhancements in financial and non-financial operations
