Who we’re looking for
Toyota Financial Savings Bank is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Mortgage Originations and Servicing Manager.
The Mortgage Originations and Servicing Manager will serve as a cross-functional mortgage leader contributing to optimal performance across mortgage origination, processing, underwriting, closing, and servicing. This role will utilize industry expertise to provide leadership and oversight to a team of Bank mortgage operations staff members, while working closely with the mortgage fulfillment and subservicing third-party vendors.
Responsible for all servicing functions on the Bank’s residential mortgage portfolio, responsibilities include managing daily production and reporting, ongoing enhancements, and implementation projects. The Mortgage Operations and Servicing Manager will serve as principal mortgage servicing liaison between the Bank and its third-party mortgage subservicing vendor as it relates to current and potential operational capabilities, control environment and systems functionality. This role also leads and supports the Bank’s mortgage operations team in the areas of processing, underwriting, and closing.
What you’ll be doing
- Successfully lead a team of mortgage operations staff.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to team members, as appropriate, to assist with individual development.
- Hire, onboard, and conduct new team member training, as needed.
- Memorialize processes and procedures for tasks overseen by the mortgage operations and servicing team.
- Oversee the daily mortgage servicing operations by developing and/or refining operational tools, processes & procedures, information flows, etc.
- Review, implement and test/audit mortgage output services (ex. Statements, letters, reports).
- Manage established Service Level Agreements with subservicing vendor and provide clear communications on positive and negative events related to service levels.
- Review, approve, test/monitor and track subservicing vendor systems’ parameter settings and operational controls and lead remediation efforts, when necessary.
- Provide management information related to mortgage servicing production environment.
- Make recommendations regarding vendor partner product and service offerings and feature/function enhancements, including serving as subject matter expert for business requirements.
- Act as primary mortgage servicing point of contact for audits and regulatory examinations, working directly with the Bank’s Operational Controls team and the subservicing vendor.
- Manage control environment around mortgage servicing.
- Partner with various bank departments by providing product/process knowledge to create/improve deposit origination and servicing process.
- As a senior leader, support the Mortgage Originations team by reviewing and approving appraisals, issuing final underwriting approval, reviewing initial closing disclosures, etc.
Qualifications/ What you bring
- High School Education or Equivalent.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry).
- Knowledge of mortgage compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Industry experience.
- Underwriting experience.
- Experience managing a team.
