Overview: Cyber Defense Technologies (CDT) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Functional Tester to join our team in Denver, Colorado. The ideal candidate will work closely with functional and development teams to ensure applications meet customer expectations and integrate with program IT landscape. The functional test engineer verifies functionality baselines & validates successful integration of information security controls and remediation. The functional test engineer ensures all sensor systems processing throughout the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process fulfills the designed functional requirement and adheres to necessary IA security compliance requirements necessary to gain and maintain ATO.
Clearance Requirements: An active Secret clearance is required. Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for comprehensive testing of software applications, through test plan creations, test case (manual and/or automated) development and test case execution.
- Identify, document and track software defects and inconsistencies found as part of the software application testing.
- Work with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret functional tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
- Plan, coordinate, support functional testing of hardened equipment.
- Develop functional testing plans.
- Identify functional problems and suggest resolutions.
- Generate testing artifacts and provide functional test reports with inputs and recommendations.
- Evaluate vendor technology and advise customer of concerns.
- Support customer Developmental and Operational Testing events.
- Assist in the review and analysis of verification methods and results.
- Assist in the development and update of verification processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
- 5+ year experience in software testing methodologies, techniques, and approaches for manual and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of software testing techniques and methodologies.
- Experience with manual and automated testing tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodology and Scrum.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000
