Join the Strategic Innovation Group in Reston, VA as a Senior Agile and Technology Advisor supporting exciting research and development efforts across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing complex technical solutions while leading Agile methodologies to drive innovation and efficiency. Your responsibilities may include:
- Design, develop, maintain, and document solution architectures, ensuring traceability to the Enterprise Architecture and requirements.
- Conduct analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems, reviewing system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
- Develop proposed changes to the solutions architecture based on analysis of requirements and emerging technologies.
- Review and refine system architecture and design, driving the operationalization of new technologies into repeatable and sustainable capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, guiding them toward developing reusable service components and integrated design patterns.
- Coach lean-agile best practices to minimize waste while maximizing the value of delivered capabilities.
- Elicit and document requirements via interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
- Conduct systems analysis to determine data needs and provide technical recommendations.
- Provide support to the Technical Director and Senior Leadership, coordinating across teams to facilitate synergy and success in research projects.
- Develop and deliver working-level and senior leadership briefs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with a Bachelors, 6 years with a Masters, or 3 years with a Ph.D. with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Agile methodologies including experience with SAFe.
- Familiarity with Agile development tools, such as GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and/or Artifactory.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and related tools and languages.
- Experience coaching teams in lean-agile best practices.
- Strong leadership and technical background that enables collaborative relationships at all levels of engineering and management.
- Ability to integrate complex technical insights into comprehensive architectural plans, while efficiently resolving project impediments.
- Ability to analyze complex information, identify trends, and propose solutions that align with business strategies.
- Self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, responsible team player.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or similar Agile certifications.
- Proven history in architecting and implementing enterprise solutions via Enterprise Architecture principles and frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Existing security clearance.
Location:
- This is a hybrid position with occasional telework allowed - strong preference for candidates local to Reston, VA with the flexibility to come on-site as needed.

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
