Our challenge
We are currently seeking a skilled Technical Business Data Analyst with experience in Curing, Review, & Mastering for Audit & Data Attestation. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analysis and be adept in SQL and Python scripting. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data systems and for providing key insights to support our audit and compliance activities.
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the data curing and review process to prepare data for audit and attestation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to support data analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with audit teams to understand data requirements for audits and ensure that the data provided meets audit standards.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment to identify and correct data quality issues.
- Design and implement robust data quality controls and validation checks within the data lifecycle.
- Document data processes, create data dictionaries, and maintain data lineage to support transparency and traceability.
- Use advanced SQL and Python skills to automate data processes and create efficiencies in data handling and reporting.
- Provide technical expertise in data management, offering insights into data structures, metadata, and database design.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, concise reports and visualizations for stakeholders at various levels.
- Work closely with IT and business teams to align data management practices with business goals and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
You are:
- Should have 10+ years of experience as a Business Data Analyst, with a focus on data quality, audit, and attestation processes.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and report generation.
- Experience with Python scripting for data analysis and process automation.
- In-depth understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data curing methodologies.
- Proven track record of working with large datasets and complex data structures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data protection standards in the financial industry.
It would be great if you also had:
- Advanced SQL certification and Python programming certification.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Knowledge of financial services and the specific data management challenges in this sector.
- Prior experience with data warehousing solutions and ETL tools.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and services.
