Job Description
We’re looking for a talented Workday payroll specialist based in Austin, to join our People Technology Team for a fixed term of 12 months. This role will oversee the implementation and maintenance of the payroll module working closely with the stakeholders and 3rd parties ensuring smooth service delivery and transition.

Keeping a customer-first mindset, you’ll be working closely with our People Technology Lead in building, designing, delivering and maintaining the most critical people functions.
Your mission:
- Lead end-to-end payroll implementations, configurations and optimizations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and 3rd parties to assess payroll requirements and design tailored solutions that are scalable.
- Provide technical expertise and deliver Workday configurations hands on as necessary for the projects.
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and develop necessary documentation.
- Stay updated with latest Workday payroll and connected systems features and best practices.
- Constantly assess interdependencies and perform impact assessments with other Workday modules and related people functions in internal and external connected systems to deliver designs and make recommendations accordingly.
- Consult with functional leaders and SMEs in the People team to design, develop, and implement technology solutions that increase operational efficiency, maintain compliance, and positively impact customer experience for People, candidates, employees, managers and business leaders.
- Build basic and advanced custom reports and extract data requests.
- Help, advise and train the People team on using People tools best practice.
- Provide an excellent customer experience by troubleshooting complex problems and investigating and resolving errors quickly and efficiently.
- Collect, document and maintain security requirements and policies for user-level access to People applications.
A bit about you:
- Workday Payroll Certification (additional certifications such as Absence and Time Tracking would be advantageous).
- At least 5 years experience in Workday payroll implementations and configurations.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance.
- Proven experience leading project teams, delivering successful payroll implementations.
- Hands-on experience in Workday technologies: Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Advanced Report Writer, Business Process Framework, Configurable Security, Calculated Fields, Custom fields & data analytics.
- You’ve played a role in a system implementation end to end.
- You’re analytically minded, a data and spreadsheets whiz who loves to solve problems and has the ability to use data to inform decisions.
- You can thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, able to flex your approach as needed and manage a busy, varied workload.
- You’re an exceptional communicator and great at building relationships across teams. Breaks down information into simple language for different stakeholders at different levels of business.
- Focus on security and confidentiality.
- Can spot opportunities, curious about data insights and proactively seeking insight and answers.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required.
