TPMA is growing our Consulting team to better serve the needs of our clients and the communities we support. Successful Consultants will exercise considerable independent judgment and be team-oriented, driven professionals who can research, analyze, and write deliverables for TPMA clients.
Duties will include client relationship management, stakeholder engagement, extensive research and report writing, and business development. Consultants will partner with internal project teams while demonstrating expertise in education, training, and workforce development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct extensive desktop research and analysis on workforce development and education best practices, policies, and trends. This may include basic labor market information and data analysis, review of reports and other documentation provided by clients, asset mapping, and other information gathering.
- Draft reports and presentations based upon research findings and stakeholder engagement (interviews, focus groups, etc.) with support and guidance from the practice area and project leadership; compile and organize large amounts of information into succinct and compelling narratives and actionable recommendations.
- Develop familiarity/expertise in one or more areas of the workforce development ecosystem (including but not limited to WIOA/One-Stop Operations, higher education, K-12 education, work-based learning/apprenticeship, career pathways, credentialing, public/private partnerships, employer engagement, recruiting/talent attraction).
- Participate in various projects for clients ranging from workforce development boards to community colleges to philanthropic organizations. Examples include:
- Support the development and implementation of WIOA-compliant workforce development programs and services that are responsive to local workforce needs and priorities.
- Facilitate the development of career pathways and stackable credentials that align with industry demand and meet the needs of job seekers.
- Support clients in the development of effective employer engagement strategies that lead to job placements and career advancement opportunities for program participants.
- Stay up to date on workforce and education legislation, regulations, and guidelines and provide guidance to clients on their implications for program design and implementation.
- Collaborate with other workforce development professionals to share best practices, strategies, and resources related to project work.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in workforce development, education, training and development, or related field.
- Strong writing and presentation development skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content for presentations and other client deliverables.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities while delivering consistent results.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Displays enthusiasm, willingness to learn quickly, and a fervent sense of initiative.
- Demonstrates a high sense of urgency to communicate challenges, offer solutions, and deliver results to various workforce development entities.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, or related field preferred.
- Associate degree with relevant work experience will also be considered.
OFFICE LOCATION
- Remote position.
- Travel within U.S. required.
