The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the nation's oldest national engineering association, is currently searching for a content specialist/writer to work with the content team to plan and create content in different media and across platforms that support and grow the organization's content strategy. This includes a focus on the architecture, engineering, and construction industry based on an in-depth knowledge of the field, as well as content that more specifically connects to ASCE programs and members.
Responsibilities include:
- Generating and executing content ideas that cover the latest news and developments in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry for multiple platforms
- Generating and executing content ideas that highlight Society members, programs, and events for multiple platforms
- Assisting with brainstorming and executing a variety of multimedia content ideas - including video, podcasts, and social media
- Cultivating an in-depth knowledge of the architecture, engineering, and construction industry
- Generating a deep roster of industry contacts and leads
- Developing strong relationships with ASCE members, both in support of their needs and as critical content collaborators
- Serving as one of the content team's key users of Sitecore (CMS) to publish and edit content on a daily basis
- Tracking, recording, and presenting regular content analytics using Google GA4 analytics
The ideal candidate will have:
- A four-year college degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years' experience producing communications content focused on science or technical writing with multimedia fluency
- Demonstrated success writing and editing substantive articles for publication
- Advanced knowledge and application of content management systems, HTML publishing, multimedia editing software and social media content platforms
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and attention to detail skills
