Savan is looking for an experienced Knowledge Management Consultant to assist in designing, developing, and implementing Knowledge Management strategies for a federal client. The consultant will need to gain a thorough understanding of the agency's internal policy management program and existing knowledge management strategy, work closely with diverse teams to devise and execute strategies for implementing a new policy management program and enhancing knowledge management practices, and create a strong communication strategy while offering hands-on support in its execution. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently planning and leading client calls and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Engage in strategic planning to enhance knowledge and policy management programs.
- Provide guidance to NSF Senior Leadership regarding business process enhancements for a new internal policy process and system.
- Maintain a centralized internal policy repository, ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of data.
- Support a cross-functional team tasked with advising leadership on the development and implementation of a new internal policy management process, fostering engagement and buy-in.
- Collaborate with policy originators and issuers to streamline the policy landscape in preparation for system integration.
- Develop and execute a communications strategy to facilitate the implementation of the knowledge management strategy.
- Conduct necessary research and analysis to inform decision-making processes.
- Create communication artifacts in alignment with the established strategy.
- Assist NSF senior leadership in advancing a Knowledge Management roadmap.
- Foster partnerships with internal offices to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Produce clear and concise summaries of work for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all deliverables adhere to Section 508 compliance standards.
- Participate actively in internal team meetings to foster collaboration.
- Assist with internal project administration tasks as required.
- Adhere to Savan's quality policy and processes in all work performed.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and developments in knowledge management to optimize the agency's strategy effectiveness.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree in fields like public policy, organizational development, statistics, sociology, or other relevant social science research.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with knowledge management software and tools such as SharePoint and Confluence.
- Strong understanding of organizational and knowledge management principles.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to identify trends in data and optimize knowledge management practices.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting enterprise knowledge management and change management efforts.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations for senior leadership.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- DHS Trusted Tester Certification.
- Public Trust Clearance (or higher).
