Job Summary
Our New York Bridge team is seeking a Bridge Growth Leader, New York. This is an incredible opportunity for an established professional in the Bridge sector to position themselves as a leader, responsible for developing and delivering a culture of partnership and collaboration across the area. The Director of Engineering will play an integral part in building a larger bridge presence in NY area as well as support growth in the rest of the Northeast.
This position will support our northeastern region but will be based in New York City.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
The role of Bridge Growth Leader, New York is diverse and multi-layered. While responsibilities will be varied and numerous, they can be summarized as follows:
- People
- Grow TYLin's presence in New York and develop the offices adjacent to NYC.
- Promote a culture of collaboration among all our people.
- Contribute to recruiting and hiring decisions.
- Project Pursuits
- Lead growth in the Bridge Sector in NY and provide support to growth in the rest of the Northeast.
- Serve as business development lead for major ADM and bridge projects in NYC.
- Support growth in the rail and transit sector in the NY area.
- Promote collaboration for cross-Sector and multi-sister-brand pursuits.
- Technical, Quality & Project Management
- Serve as Program Manager, Operations Advisor and/or Project Manager on larger, more complex projects.
- Provide project management, including interface with clients and the development of project scope, schedule, and budgets.
- Manage the development of production work plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Work with project managers and senior management to establish contract budgets and scopes of work for all New York based work.
- Support project managers and senior management as required for successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Responsible for the successful completion of projects under his/her direction.
- Provide leadership to project teams.
- Oversee performance of complex design.
- Provide Unit level input for annual planning and quarterly forecasting.
- Conduct all technical analyses, documentation and client relationships following TYLI's quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Contracts & Claims
- Help resolve any contracts, claims or related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering with emphasis in bridge design is preferred, but not required.
- PE license required.
- 15+ years of bridge design, construction and project management leadership required.
- Successful experience managing bridge design projects and design teams is essential.
- Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
- Existing relationships with local engineering clients preferred, as well as knowledge of their policies and procedures.
- Must have extensive experience leading highly technical teams and strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
Additional Information
TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $143,000-$250,000 annually for this position and local market.
