The Service Advisor initiates automotive services and repairs by addressing customer concerns; recommending needed services and maintenance; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; selling ethically needed repairs and maintenance; and maintaining customer rapport and records. The Service Advisor position has a strong focus on sales and customer service. Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment to ensure the ongoing growth of the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Address customer concerns by listening to description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
- Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
- Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
- Prepares repair orders (ROs) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
- Acts as a communication liaison between the customer and the technician.
- Maintains customer rapport by explaining and prioritizing needed vehicle repairs and maintenance; managing customer’s expectations; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact information (phone numbers, addresses, email addresses); answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
- Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements:
- Service Advisors must have previous automotive Service Advisor experience.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are required.
- Must produce high sales levels while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to understand and keep abreast of federal, state, and local regulations that affect operations.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Must consent to and pass a drug/background screen.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiasm, strong communication skills, positive attitude, ambition, work ethic, professional conduct, high integrity, and dedication to personal improvement.
- Customer-focused and energetic.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to work evenings until 9:00 PM.
- Ability to work weekends as business needs dictate.
- Maintain or obtain required Toyota Certifications.
