Position Overview
The Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APRN - Family Certified or PA) for the Cardiology Department to join our team of 4 Advanced Practice Providers and attending physicians.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical histories and perform complete physical examinations.
- Initiate appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness.
- Perform and interpret common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic, and other routine diagnostic procedures.
- Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care.
- May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority.
- Provide information and educate patients regarding their disease and treatments.
- Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with healthcare team members.
- Ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patients and the care team.
- Participate in quality monitoring and assist in data analysis.
- May serve as clinical preceptor for PA/APRN students and other health professionals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
If in neonatal care service area, a Master's Degree is required upon hire.
- APRN: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in applicable state.
- National certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a nationally accredited organization.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based on work setting.
PA: Current certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA. Licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio as a PA-C.
Complexity of Work
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills are required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Work Experience
Two years clinical nursing experience preferred for APRN. Two years relative clinical experience preferred for PA.
Physical Requirements
Typical physical demands include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time. Manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to perform physical examinations.
Pay
$49.94/hour
