Nurse Manager - Acute and Critical Care Spotlight

Waldo County General Hospital is currently seeking a full-time Nurse Manager for Acute and Critical Care to join their leadership team!
Waldo County General Hospital is a 25 Bed Critical Access Hospital located in Belfast, Maine and offers inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services, patient and community education, and a full range of specialty services through the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Ambulatory Surgical Care Unit, Birth Center, and the Oncology Department.
Position Summary
Works collaboratively with the Director of Acute and Critical Care to manage operations of the clinical services of the Medical Surgical Unit and Special Care Unit. Responsibilities include managing resources (human, material and financial), to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of services for specific patient populations. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Recognized as a professional role model, promoting an environment that supports the goals, mission, vision, philosophy and values of the Division of Nursing Services and the Coastal Healthcare Alliance.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required or entry into BSN program within 6 months and completion within 2 years. Master’s Degree in Nursing or other health-related field preferred.
- License/Certifications: Licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Maine required. American Heart Association in BLS and ACLS required. Leadership Certification preferred or within 18 months of hire.
- Experience: Medical Surgical and Critical Care experience preferred, with a minimum of two years supervisory/leadership experience required; previous management experience preferred.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers, and board of directors.
