Position Description
- Speech Language Pathologist
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Director of Rehabilitation in providing approved therapy treatments to appropriate residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, Director of Rehabilitation, and the Medical Director, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
- Provides Speech Therapy treatments to patients as directed.
- Records treatments given in electronic medical record.
- Participates in Patient Care Conferences and Rehabilitation Meetings.
- Communicates with Director of Rehabilitation and other interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
- Participates in Facility in-service training programs.
- Records daily treatments and labor according to Ashford Hall procedures and state SLP rules.
- Assists with cleaning and maintaining of treatment area and department.
- Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
- Meets established productivity targets.
- Completes all documentation according to timeline outlined in department policy and as required.
- Records clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory, facility, and professional guidelines.
- Complies with state regulations and national standards as they apply to the practice of Speech Language Pathology.
- Adheres to Ashford Hall Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
- Must be able to physically perform the essential job functions of the position. See HR for complete list.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited Therapy program.
- Must have a current, unencumbered license in the State of Texas.
- Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must possess good communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to patients, patient's family members, team members, and other Facility staff and managers.
- Must be capable of performing the essential responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
