Purpose of Job:
This position is responsible for demonstrating leadership throughout the clinical support team and providing safe, effective and efficient nursing care.
Job Functions:
- Screens patient phone calls for urgency of need and prioritizes stat requests.
- Advises patient of treatment when appropriate according to clinic policy.
- Maintains educational material for patients and staff.
- Provides patient care when necessary to assist clinical personnel.
- Performs room turnover in patient rooms between cases and at the end of the day.
- Develops, maintains and updates standing orders with providers; follows refill request guidelines.
- Demonstrates leadership throughout the clinical support team.
- Identifies, develops, implements, updates and maintains clinic efficiencies, best practices and clinical policies and procedures.
- Serves as the primary clinic contact for operations manager, providers and clinic support staff and effectively communicates and coordinates with various departments throughout the organization and in the community.
- Serves as the primary EMR user and provides end user education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience:
- Graduate from a School of Nursing
- 1 year of experience in a clinical setting
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Skills in assessment of patient condition and taking vital signs
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Skills in preparing and maintaining records and reports
- Ability to effectively handle high-stress fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
License/Certifications:
- Current RN licensure
- Current CPR certification
