Position Summary
This is a key strategic role responsible for support performance and profitability on the Aetna pharmacy team by driving high-performance pharmacy management across all Aetna lines of businesses. This position will collaborate with various actuarial and cross-functional teams to drive a consistent performance management process for review of financial and satisfaction metrics, creating transparency to executive leadership. This position will also support the valuation and review process of pharmacy initiatives that will drive optimized performance, and manage the strategic relationship between Aetna and Caremark.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead/manage projects established to support goals identified in strategic and operating plans. Exhibit innovative use of resources.
- Leverage various internal and external data sources to quantify risks/opportunities, as well as develop standardized meaningful reporting to executive leadership.
- Apply project management/organizational skills to stand up a formal cadence to value and review initiatives and communicate succinctly to senior leaders on valuation.
- Collaborate with business partners across the CVS Health enterprise to provide sound risk management advice and optimize enterprise value, leveraging strong communication and networking skills.
- Build and maintain pharmacy P&L reporting package.
- Analyze pharmacy trend drivers and determine opportunities to drive to low cost of care.
- Develop strategic relationships with all Aetna LOBs to create transparency and inform trend and forecast projections.
- Develop creative technical solutions to incorporate efficiencies into daily work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree along with 5+ years relevant work experience.
- Must have actuarial exams passed.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively and use multiple data sources to assess and develop business strategies.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to collaborate with experts from other teams to better understand issues/drivers and how/why the impact may differ by line of business.
- Experience with large and detailed data sets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in SAS or similar programs.
- Experience in pharmacy-related work.
- ASA/FSA credential.
- Knowledge of financial P&L.
- Knowledge of different Aetna segments and how unique components within each LOB impact P&L.
Education
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $75,400.00 - $182,549.40. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
