Job Summary and Qualifications
The Labor & Delivery RN Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.
What you will do in this role:
- Help create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes, while ensuring adherence to standards of care.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiples tasks and projects in a productive manner.
- Demonstrate interdepartmental support and teamwork through a supportive and collaborative approach.
- Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures, mandatory requirements, and licensure and certification requirements.
- Meet mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives as listed in the Performance Management Plan.
- Establish orientation and annual competency criteria for staff and ensure successful completion.
- Demonstrate ability to identify strategic management initiatives.
- Respond to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff, or patient issues in a timely manner.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Acute care/hospital nursing leadership experience required
- Current Fetal Monitoring certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of hire
