Job Title: Neurology Advanced Provider

Job Description:
To provide guidance and support in the Neurology Department, adhere to all policies and procedures of MMC, and meet the needs of patients in a teamwork approach.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting and involves frequent telephone contact, as well as face-to-face communication with patients. There is possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to medical practice. Varied activities including walking, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), stooping, assisting patients and sitting for extended periods of time may occur. Also, occasional stress from multiple responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Represent MMC in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform an appropriate physical exam, obtain complete medical history and document visit in the EMR system
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines
- Collaborate with physicians in managing patient needs, when necessary
- Triage patient calls and provide consultation
- Provide patients/family with proper education concerning medication and treatment(s)
- Be flexible when asked to stay past your scheduled work time to accommodate the needs of patients
- Complete all Healthstream assignments on time
- Plan, prioritize and organize workload to maintain efficient patient/client operation in the department
- Communicate with patients about lab results, questions, medications, symptoms etc.
- Chart all communications/interactions in the EMR system
- Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate patient service
- Meet or exceed patient, doctor, and staff expectations through a cooperative, teamwork approach
- Adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
- Adhere to all MMC policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required or assigned

- Ability to conduct daily functions in an appropriate, professional, and compassionate manner
- Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks efficiently; attention to detail and well organized
- Flexibility to respond to changing demands

- Effectively utilize computer systems and programs necessary for daily tasks
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved NP or PA program
- Advanced Practitioner experience preferred but not required
- Current State of Tennessee license
