Overview
The RN/GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population-specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirements and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings.
The RN/GN reports directly to the Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Nurse Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the unit by organizing and prioritizing care by communicating and collaborating with others and implementing multidisciplinary actions to provide continuity of care.
- Hold self and other staff members accountable and responsible for work performance and continuous improvement of patient care in his/her work area and throughout the hospital.
- Ensure self-compliance with professional, regulatory, and government standards of care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of needs and tasks for his/her specific unit.
- Ensure the satisfactory completion of clinical procedures, documentation, and educational and procedural teaching of the patient.
Qualifications
- Education: RN graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Must have a valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
- ACLS - AHA certification within 1 year of hire.
- PALS – AHA certification within 1 year of hire.
- TNCC within 1 year of hire.
- Work Experience: Successful completion of hospital orientation.
