- Join an established hospitalist service
- 7 on/ 7 off schedule - NIGHTS
- Large hospitalist office and sleep room in-house
- 108 bed facility with manageable patient load with a variety of patients
- Complete admissions from the ER and answer calls from the inpatient unit, collaborating with nursing, case management and physician team
- Subspecialty support available with cardiology, pulmonology, more
- Hospitalist physician is on call for consults

Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for quality of medical services rendered to patients.
- Consults with Collaborative Physician as needed.
- Follows all protocols as established with Collaborative Physician.
- Maintains current licensure and required continuing education.
- Ability to appropriately assess patients with a wide range of conditions of a sufficient level of acuity to require acute inpatient hospital services.
- Ability to perform an appropriate Medical History and Physical Examination and to develop a diagnostic and treatment plan in conjunction with the Collaborating Physician. Utilizes the organization’s electronic health record.
- Ability to provide first call coverage for hospitalist service patients including initiation of appropriate therapy under the supervision of the Collaborating Physician.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing with BS and MS in nursing, including successful educational preparation as a Nurse Practitioner to care for adult patients.
Licensure/Certification
- Current licensure by Missouri State Board of Nursing.
- ACLS preferred – required within 6 months of hire.
- BLS required.
Work Experience
- Past experience as Registered Nurse.
- Preferably has at least two years as an APN.
- Experience in a high acuity Hospital-based setting (such as Intensive Care, Intermediate Care or Emergency Department) is preferred.
