Medical Technologist
A facility outside of the beautiful Olympic National Park and Forest is looking for a night shift Medical Lab Technician/Medical Technologist.
The Medical Technologist performs duties such as chemical, microscopic, serologic, hematological, immunohematologic, EKG’s, and bacteriologic tests to provide data for the health care provider for the purpose of diagnosing, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of disease. Responsibilities include receiving specimens for laboratory tests or obtaining such body materials as urine, blood, feces, pus, and tissue directly from the patient. Makes quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses. Cultivates, isolates, and identifies pathogenic bacteria and other microorganisms. Performs blood tests for transfusion. Records and distributes test results and maintains laboratory supplies and equipment as necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology
- Bachelor of Science in a chemical or biological science from a 4-year accredited college or university
*NOTE: Bachelor’s degree requirement may be waived by the department manager depending on the amount and type of experience held.
Experience/Training:
- Minimum three years’ experience as a Medical Technologist in a rural hospital setting with on-call experience preferred.
- Previous experience with phlebotomy required.
