Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:
The role of the Informatics Pharmacist is to promote the safe, effective, timely, and optimal use of medications by supporting pharmacy technology systems including but not limited to: Electronic Health Record, automated dispensing cabinets- Pyxis, narcotic diversion software, inventory management system, automated pharmacy dispensing system/carousel- Boxpicker, emergency tray management- TraySafe, 340B split billing software- Macrohelix, ambulatory pharmacy systems- ParataMax, Eyecon. The Informatics Pharmacist will assist in managing pharmacy system formularies and perform infusion pump drug library updates and maintenance with oversight from the Pump System Administrator. Candidate responsible for providing professional consultative oversight for the maintenance, upgrading, evaluation, and implementation of pharmacy software systems and associated pharmacy automation systems and for maintaining a personal competency with the systems. This pharmacist should have strong knowledge of inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations and understand the use of pharmacy automation to streamline workflow and accuracy. This individual will work independently and use a considerable amount of innovation in problem solving. Candidate will join the Pharmacy Automation and Informatics Team working closely with pharmacy management and their respective teams, ITS (Information Technology Services) analysts and Epic Meds Process Team to implement, maintain, and optimize pharmacy systems. Flexibility to work different shifts for special projects and commuting to offsite facilities as needed. The position is required to rotate through the pharmacy on-call schedule in area of responsibility. Also, will be assigned to precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians, and interns as required by supervisor. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy. In this role, knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations is required.

Required Qualifications:
- Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of pharmacy as determined by the CA Board of Pharmacy
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Knowledge and abilities necessary for the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
- Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Expertise Needed (e.g. in Pharmacotherapy)
- Experience with pharmacy technology system implementation (design, specifications, build, test, train, support, maintain)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
- Current BLS or ACLS upon hire
- Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy practice residency OR 2+ years experience as a clinical pharmacist
- CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong troubleshooting ability, pro-active with a "can do" attitude
- Completion of Pharmacy Informatics Residency
