If you have a passion for ER and you're interested in working for a practice that places a priority on the health and harmony of our team and fostering a positive work culture - consider joining Animal ER Care in Colorado Springs, CO. We're an independently owned, AAHA-accredited, VECCS II Certified, 24/7 emergency practice, within a larger specialty hospital. We have recently opened a second ER location nearby to help support the large ER caseload in Colorado Springs. Ideal candidates for either location will be internship-trained, enthusiastic, and motivated to support our rapidly growing caseload. Exceptional candidates that did not undergo internship training will also be considered.
Based in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado, AERC-Main resides within the Veterinary Specialty Center (VSC), a 24-hour small-animal specialty hospital fully equipped with endoscopy, bronchoscopy, digital radiology, multiple surgical suites with ventilators, ultrasound, high-flow oxygen, and CT scan. AERC-Central is a stand-alone full service ER clinic whose patients can also be accommodated by these specialty services. AERC-Central has also developed a niche within the exotic pet community to provide emergency services to small mammals, reptiles, turtles, and birds. Both hospitals maintain state-of-the-art veterinary equipment and laboratory, with blood chemistry, full differential CBC, coagulation profile (TEG), blood gas analyzers, and Sedivue urinalysis machine, sevoflurane anesthesia, telemetry and patient monitors (ECG, temperature, capnography, pulse oximetry, oscillometric, and direct arterial blood pressure), and therapeutic laser. The caseload is diverse with the emergency departments seeing over 15,000 cases annually. AERC's emergency doctors practice progressive medicine, with ready access to VSC's board certified veterinary specialists.
Our full-time schedule consists of 10-13 shifts per month with an average of 36-40 scheduled hours per week. Depending on location, a combination of 8, 10, and 12 hours shifts are offered.
