Principal Consultant, Technical Risk (Principal Level)
ERM is seeking a full-time Principal Consultant, Health & Safety Technical Risk to play a key role in supporting our Safety & Risk service area in Houston, TX and the Gulf region. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career professional looking to advance their career to the next level with a global Safety & Risk leader. As a staff member, you will be fully accountable for consulting on a range of EHS technical risk related projects locally, while networking with ERM's global Safety & Risk technical team to share best practices across the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with team to lead and deliver exceptional performance results within ERM's Safety & Risk client base in the Gulf region. Serve as a key member of the technical team to help drive double-digit profitable growth across the technical risk service line.
- Grow technical risk services with existing and new clients through strong commercial engagement.
- Assist technical risk clients in achieving compliance with a variety of complex industrial, technical and regulatory issues.
- Design, direct and deliver large programs/projects and multi-person project teams. Help achieve client’s expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Be an effective teammate and contribute to the overall success of the technical risk team.
- Develop a working understanding of ERM’s other consulting service areas and actively support cross selling these services to existing clients. Support the general growth and development of ERM’s international Safety & Risk service area.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in chemical, civil, environmental, petroleum or mechanical engineering or related degree. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Or the equivalency of 8+ years related experience in lieu of education.
- 6-8 years of relevant technical risk and health and safety experience or professional internships.
- Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
- Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension.
- Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- HAZWOPER and EIT certifications a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Local candidates preferred.
