Job Overview
As the Regional Business Leader (RBL), you will be accountable for building, developing and coaching a field team to successfully launch a new innovative insulin pump and future Sequel products. The RBL will be responsible for all commercial field-related activities and achieving company goals in their region. Your team will consist of both Territory Business Leaders focused on product promotion and Clinical Diabetes Specialists supporting product education and training. Partnering cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and sales leadership to align field needs and market dynamics will be pivotal for this role.
The territory for this role includes Long Island, Queens, Manhattan, NYC & Central Jersey.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Build and cultivate an empowered team culture that enables high performance and collaboration.
- Ensure a successful execution of the commercial launch strategy by providing clear sales direction and impactful coaching.
- Facilitate effective business planning, customer targeting and account prioritization in support of national goals and integration of territory goals.
- Empower the field team to deliver impactful conversations by ensuring a high level of clinical acumen regarding diabetes and insulin therapy.
- Consistently contribute to company objectives by meeting/exceeding sales goals and providing excellent product training support.
- Partner cross functionally to deliver a positive customer experience with Sequel products and support the growth of the company.
- Conduct regular field visits and provide consistent and timely coaching feedback based on observations of customer interactions and overall performance.
- Coach team on skill development (i.e. product knowledge, competitive product knowledge, selling skills, technical skills, product training techniques, business acumen, use of analytics, building relationships, compliance).
- Plan and manage the assigned operational budgets with a focus on appropriate return on investment.
- Foster strong relationships with key healthcare professionals, opinion leaders, and influencers in the diabetes space to drive product adoption.
- Ensure that all field activities and strategies comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years field sales experience with a minimum of 5 years of related industry sales experience in one or more of the following areas: diabetes, endocrinology, insulin infusion pumps, and managed care.
- Demonstrated history of success leading a field sales team preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience recruiting and developing team members.
- Experience leading sales teams to launch and deliver products.
- Experience in developing strategic business plans with specific, measurable, action-oriented objectives.
- Demonstrated relationships with Endocrinologists strongly preferred.
- Previous sales award recipient due to strong sales performance (i.e. President’s Club, Rookie of the Year).
- Strong data analysis, evaluation and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Diabetes products and therapies.
- Candidate must live within the assigned geography.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to carry and transport professional sales samples and literature.
- Ability to travel within defined territory as necessary, which may include overnight travel. Majority of time will be spent with team in market.
