Description
The Associate VP, Enterprise Architecture translates business needs into technical systems solutions and architectural roadmaps. The Associate VP, Enterprise Architecture requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide.
Responsibilities
The Associate VP, Enterprise Architecture will lead the activation of architecture principles, patterns, standards by managing and directing a team of Enterprise Architects to address and solve business issues. Identifies information technology architectures and facilitates architecture development with a clear line of sight to business goals. Participates in governance activities to ensure compliance with enterprise and solution architecture standards. Ensures implementation of technology standards, creates visibility to enterprise impacts of solutions on operational and financials. Provides leadership in developing the organization's technical and architectural staff. Decisions are typically related to intradepartmental coordination, development and implementation of strategic plans, and business outcomes, and develops and implements strategic plans for the scope of management that are aligned with the Segment or Business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for architecting, designing, and participating in the delivery of complex technology initiatives in all segments.
- Ensuring segment applications and technology target state is aligned with Humana's business priorities.
- Establish Enterprise Architecture governance over Segment development activities.
- Communicate and activate Enterprise Architecture practices in solution engineering for Segments.
- Nurture a team culture that focuses on customer and service for enterprise architecture activation in segments by focusing on high-quality implementations (resilience, data quality, SLA compliance, security, supportability, visibility).
- Ensure that the governance of architecture enables delivery teams to build simple, feasible, elegant, and impactful solutions.
- Foster a positive work environment, where selecting, educating and activating team members through continuous feedback, mentoring, and coaching is expected. Inspire a high-performing team of architects to develop work products that enable innovation of technology and support new business capabilities and changing operating models.
- Collaborating with product management, business strategy, and segment leadership to define and evergreen technology architecture future state.
- Provide Segment feedback to Enterprise Architecture on principles, policies, and standards.
- Lead a team of architects in innovating using technology trends in Healthcare, Insurance, and Consumer Well Being.
- Ensure visibility into segment technology debt and champion planning needed to erase the technology segment debt.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 10 or more years of technical experience
- 8 or more years of management experience
- Progressive experience as a senior architect or technical lead in large IT projects spanning multiple enterprise systems
- 10 or more years design, development, and testing of software applications
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
