The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on development, manufacturing, and operation of satellite systems to address one of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space mobility. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will develop mixed signal electrical circuitry and integrate our innovative Optical Communications Terminal enabling flexible high-data rate deep space optical communication links for various spaceflight systems.
You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of development, manufacturing, and operation of satellite systems to address one of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space mobility.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- A breadth of understanding in electronics hardware development such as developing sophisticated circuit cards, consumer electronics, wireless devices, or other electronic commercial or aerospace products
- Experience designing analog, high-speed digital, or mixed-signal circuits, including analysis, simulation, test, problem-solving, and part selection
- Knowledge of signal-integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles
- Proficiency with SoC or Processor/FPGA boards with multiple power domains and clocks
- Expertise in high-speed serial bus design and optimization
- Strong background with schematic-capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer (preferable) or Cadence OrCAD / Cadence Allegro tool suites
- Familiar with many of the following parts and their usage: ADCs, DACs, OpAmps, power supplies (linear, LDO, DC/DC), microcontrollers, processors, volatile memory (DDR), non-volatile memory (NAND, NOR, etc.), and MOSFETs
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related fields
- Successful Candidates typically have 10+ years of experience (8+ years with Masters) in design, development, and test
- Validated experience developing for software-defined radios or modems
- Proven understanding of industry-standard communication protocols including Ethernet, IEEE 1588, and NTP v.4
- Experience leading efforts in collaboration with multi-functional teams for up-screening and qualification of commercial-grade parts for use in space environments
- Familiarity with space hardware testing standards and practices for communication systems
- Eligibility to acquire a US government security clearance
Compensation Range for WA applicants is $156,910.50-$219,674.70. Other site ranges may differ.
