Job Description
TRAVEL ONE WEEK PER MONTH IS REQUIRED
Your focus will be delivering results against an organization’s most complex business and technology initiatives. Success requires the ability to adapt and perform in numerous Product Management-oriented environments. In this position, your role as a Product Coach will require you to be a strategic partner and thought leader for an organization adopting a Product Model.
Specific responsibilities for the Product Coach position include:
- Quickly establish collaborative partnership with key stakeholders and provide coaching at all levels in an emerging Product model.
- Become a strategic partner to drive ROI and greater adoption for higher transformation success.
- Assess the current delivery environment and recommend optimal Product approaches tailored to the culture and maturity of the organization.
- Perform in various Product roles, including VP of Product, Product Manager, etc. where needed.
- Collaborate with Design and Technology team members at all levels of the organization.
- Facilitate backlog refinement, planning sessions, team touchpoints, and retrospectives.
- Influence at multiple levels (team, program, portfolio) of an organization and help implement recommended changes.
- Perform hands-on project work as needed.
- Prepare and deliver effective communications (written and verbal) regarding progress.
Qualifications
Specific qualifications for the Product Coach position include:
- 10+ years’ experience working in Product roles.
- 3+ years’ leading teams of Product teams.
- Ability to facilitate the delivery of and coach others to facilitate the creation of vision statements, personas, lean canvas, roadmap, etc.
- Product practitioner mindset with an understanding of common Product practices, value-driving oriented environments, and iterative development practices.
- Knowledge of Product frameworks/schools of thought and ability to put theory to practice while considering organizational culture resistance/adoption.
- Advanced knowledge of Jira and/or Confluence or other Agile delivery tools.
- Experience with Value Stream Mapping and Lean product development leading practices.
- Ability to establish credibility, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence.
- Ability to establish and implement an effective work hierarchy across their organization and be able to coach the effective creation of Themes, Initiatives, Epics, Features, and User Stories.
- Ability to coach organizations on implementing identification and resolution of dependencies, and deliver optimal solutions.
- Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people.
