Liberty Mutual Global Retail Markets (GRM) Technology is seeking an innovative, disciplined, results-oriented engineering executive to lead our growing Service Technology organization. As VP & Senior Director, Technology, you will be responsible for driving business value through the application of technology throughout the Service value chain. In this role, you will shape the future of how customers interact with Liberty Mutual through our direct-to-consumer digital platforms and contact centers.
In this role, you will set the strategic direction and lead the development of mission critical solutions to reimagine the customer service experience at enterprise scale. You will partner with global business and technology leaders to deliver best-in-class solutions to market. Putting people first, you will advance our culture of continuous improvement and grow future leaders, inspiring your team to reach new heights of achievement. You will lead the advancement of modern software engineering best practice throughout the organization. By maintaining breadth and depth of perspective, you will bring to bear your knowledge of industry/market trends to grow and sustain a high performing, Agile technology organization.
About the role:
- Lead, grow and develop a high-performing, diverse engineering organization.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to develop and implement the GRM US Service Technology strategy in alignment with overall company vision & goals.
- Work alongside product owners, architects and team members to ensure solutions meet the needs of our users and enable strategic business outcomes.
- Anticipate and manage business and technology evolution; building towards our future.
- Unleash innovation and teamwork by championing a one-team mindset in an environment that values diversity and calculated risk taking; open to new ideas and novel solutions.
- Communicate enterprise vision, strategies, critical success factors and plans.
- Define department objectives; Identify and address group development needs to create high performance software engineering organization.
- Develop relationships that promote trust and increase efficiency and effectiveness of the overall organization.
- Jointly establishes financial targets with business partners and ensures that initiatives deliver to plan.
- Develops and maintains a network of industry contacts, performs or directs research on industry trends, competitors, business and technology products; analyzes trends and makes strategic and tactical recommendations.
- Ensures technical and business architectures are well aligned to achieve strategic outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical discipline or related experience; Master's Degree preferred.
- Generally a minimum of 15 years related experience with 10 years in leadership role.
- Proven ability to create a culture where high-performing teams can excel to deliver on organizational goals.
- Strong track record of agile software delivery in modern architectures via cloud solutions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
- In-depth knowledge of software engineering concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities.
- In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of agile planning methodologies and tools.
- Advanced knowledge of leadership concepts, practices and techniques.
- Experience influencing the adoption of a digital-first, data-driven culture.
- High degree of flexibility and ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization with diverse backgrounds.
- Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly.
