Why this role matters
Sales Development Team members initiate contact with prospects to educate them about Vonage products and services, qualify leads and work with sales and other colleagues to close opportunities to create incremental business. Using inbound and outbound prospecting efforts, Sales Development drives prospects to company products and services to help Vonage grow. The role of Vice President Sales Development provides global strategic leadership and oversees the efforts of the Sales Development team in pursuit of our vision. This position can be located within the U.S. or UK.
What you'll do
- Provide overall leadership and oversight to the Outbound/Inbound Sales Development function and teams.
- Engage with sales, marketing, product and business leaders to establish the Outbound/Inbound Sales Development strategy, set priorities and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic and business objectives.
- Ensure leaders and team members have the required business acumen and customer knowledge.
- Anticipate how market and competitive factors will influence selling of Vonage products and services.
- Ensure processes are in place to manage all steps of the selling process, coordinating complex decision-making to overcome objectives to closure.
- Actively participate in and lead efforts to set sales-related focus of allied departments such as Marketing and product development.
Process Improvement
- Use strategic probing to identify, evaluate and identify business opportunities.
- Drive business process improvement efforts.
- Monitor industry to identify sales-related technical, product and customer service trends that offer potential business opportunity – adapting and applying with Vonage to achieve competitive advantage.
What you'll bring
- Expert understanding of Vonage products and services: UCaas, IaaS, VoIP and managed WAN & LAN.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills.
- Exceptional planning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to set organizational priorities, develop high impact project plans and ensure appropriate leadership, structure and execution.
- Manage and reconcile requests across diverse functional groups and ensure focus on meeting and exceeding customer requirements.
- Provide executive leadership across multiple and varied functions.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related discipline.
- Prior experience in a leadership role.
- 5 years of relevant experience driving inbound and outbound sales in an organization with a team of 100 people.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree.
