Who we are looking for
The State Street Global Markets ("SSGM") Data Steward (AVP) is a key position responsible for identifying and resolving all types of data issues working with Business Unit core team and Data Governance Lead, IT, Enterprise Data Governance & Management to ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, privacy, availability, security and usability and adherence to Corporate policies and procedures.
The Data Steward is a subject matter expert for certain data sets typically aligned with business applications. Data Stewards maintain business metadata within the Data Catalog to enable a common understanding of data context, meaning and lineage. Data Stewards also support the Business Owner to implement data management controls related to data quality and data use.
Due to the role requirements this job needs to be performed primarily in the office.

What you will be responsible for
As Global Markets Data Governance Steward, Assistant Vice President you will:
Partner with the Business Owner to:
- Maintain data dictionary aligned to enterprise glossary to ensure data context and meaning is clear to Data Consumers and other stakeholders.
- Manage Data Provider/Consumer relationships and confirm that data is fit for purpose.
- Engage Business Owners to verify that operational controls (business and IT) are implemented and fully documented to mitigate data quality risks.
- Actively participate with EDGM Data Steward Forums and networking.
Partner with Technology Manager and IT data experts to:- Capture technical metadata and associate physical data structures to business data element definitions within the Data Catalog.
- Ensure that application data lineage (inputs, outputs) is accurate and updated in the Data Catalog.
- Participate in data integration projects to ensure appropriate data is used, data quality controls are implemented, and the Data Catalog is updated.
- Drive resolution of data quality issues and exceptions by collaborating with business process owners, technology experts or other key stakeholder and subject matter experts.

Education & Preferred Qualifications- 5+ years of Financial Services Industry is required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple Business and Initiative activities.
- Proven understanding of global environment and ability to work across divisions.
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities.

Salary Range:$90,000 - $142,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
