Responsibilities
Humana's Corporate Strategy team is a small, high-performing group that works closely with Humana's senior leadership to chart the course for the company's future. In Strategy, you will identify and analyze exciting new growth opportunities and work with business leaders to prioritize strategic investments and execute strategic transformation. The Strategy team leads weekly meetings with Humana's CEO and management team and frequently deliver strategy updates to the Board of Directors. Day-to-day activities of the Post-MBA leader will include overseeing a team of analysts to pull together industry analysis, high-level financial modeling, and qualitative analysis and synthesis of strategic options to create executive-level deliverables and recommendations for Humana's senior leaders and Board.
As AVP, Corporate Strategy, you will provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to our most senior leaders through the development of enterprise-wide strategic plans and objectives. In addition, you will lead a wide variety of cross-functional strategy projects related to Enterprise growth priorities, provide strategic support for M&A processes and external partnership opportunities, and present progress and recommendations to Humana's senior leadership and Board.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead engagement with our board of directors and investor community on corporate strategy subject matter.
- Significant involvement in prioritization of enterprise-wide strategic investment funds.
- Deliver on a wide range of short term and long term strategic activities, including strategic projects, strategy execution, and business development/M&A activities.
- Work with Humana's leadership team to establish and communicate enterprise strategy.
- Lead cross-functional projects, working with the management team and business presidents.
- Convert strategy into business cases and projects while prioritizing timelines and ensuring consensus and execution.
- Manage external relationships with key business partners.
- Develop and refine key team operating systems and individual team members.
Skills and Competencies
The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who has worked in strategy development at a top tier strategy consulting firm or in a large corporation. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to influence peers and business leaders. This person must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to work collaboratively with key leaders to shape the priorities and agenda for the Corporate Strategy group.
He/she also will be effective at multi-tasking and possess keen change management skills. Additional skills and competencies include:

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5 years prior experience at top tier consulting firm such as BCG, Bain, Deloitte, Accenture, or McKinsey with 2 plus years as Manager, Project lead, Engagement Manager or equivalent, prefer Senior Manager, Director, Associate Partner, or Associate Principal.
Proven experience developing board-ready material and planning for strategic annual meetings for executives and BoD.
Proven experience setting priorities and defining the future direction of a company (i.e. competitive analysis, strategy road map, strategic investment prioritization).
Location:
Must reside in Louisville KY, Washington DC or Boston, MA or be willing to relocate. Relocation will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or MD
5 year Post MBA consulting or Fortune 500 corporate strategy team
Experience working in healthcare industry, preferably payer or provider space.
