A Day in the Life
Responsibilities will include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Perform structured software programming for the development of security tooling – Java/Kotlin/Groovy, Python, Go.
- Introduce and maintain processes, tools, and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle.
- Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to understand the software problem and functionality domain, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics.
- Apply knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing.
- Engage with systems teams on developing, testing, and deploying technologies for developing automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Facilitate collaboration among different experts and across toolchains to realize process efficiency.
- Support software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities.
- Respond to scope changes and code software enhancements, including cloud-based or internet-related tools.
Must-Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with containerization tools and infrastructure, including Docker.
- Familiarity with encryption techniques and certificate management.
- Understanding of security architecture principles, including secure communications, data protection, and secure trust stores.
- Proficiency in secure coding methodologies and standards.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills.

Salary ranges for U.S. (excl. PR) locations (USD): $128,000.00 - $192,000.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
