BCH is seeking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will contribute to the successful achievement of the organization’s mission and strategic initiatives and is responsible for the fiscal activities. These include development and implementation of short and long term financial planning, creating and monitoring of financial policies and procedures, development and maintenance of operational and capital budgets, ongoing analysis of revenue generation, income lifecycles, reserves, and expenditures.
The CFO will also maximize the company’s financial position and assure financial viability by providing leadership and direction to the leadership team, financial and operational strategies, and timely accurate financial or related reports to funding agency requirements, management, and the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and responsible for all aspects of financial compliance and reporting for the organization including annual financial audit, grants management and cost reports.
- Supports new business development through expert analysis, planning and decision support.
- Provides oversight to the Revenue Cycle Management process.
- Provides supervision, training and evaluation of the accounting system, internal controls and general fiscal and business management, to ensure accuracy of tracking all business activities.
- Provides leadership, oversight, evaluation and direction to the Finance and Billing Departments.
- Serves as a member of the Leadership Team and assists in developing and implementing the health center’s mission and strategic plan.
- Maintains current understanding and knowledge of management and leadership techniques and skills as well as state-of-the-art knowledge concerning regulations governing grants, major gifts and fundraising activities and expenditures. Attends meetings, presentations, conferences, and reads related literature necessary to fulfill these responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field required. MBA or CPA desirable.
- Minimum ten years accounting experience including five years of supervisory experience, and a minimum of three years of executive level experience and leadership for an accounting department and staff.
- Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards required.
- Strong computer competencies including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation graphics, and data management software.
- Demonstrated ability in leveraging technology to enhance revenue or operating efficiencies.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, patients, families and external individuals, groups, and agencies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, simultaneously handle multiple projects and make appropriate decisions to assure completion of tasks on time.
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to work under stress with attention to accuracy, details, and deadlines.
- Demonstrated professional maturity and demeanor that sets the tone in carrying out the responsibilities of the position and in representing the organization to internal and external constituents.
