As part of the sales leadership team for Ardagh Glass Packaging – North America (AGP – North America), the Vice President of Sales is responsible for forecasting, developing, and executing the Ardagh Glass Packaging commercial plan for the assigned segment of the business. This position coordinates sales activities with directors, account managers, customer accounts, and prospects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the overall and specific category level commercial strategies
- Execute the strategy and achievement of key metrics of volume, EBITDA, and Operating Cash Flow (OCF)
- Maintain a broad understanding of the markets including demand and competitive landscape
- Assist with long range planning (LRP), budgeting, and monthly sales projections
- Support the forecast improvement initiatives across all segments
- Monitor inventory turnover per planned objectives and develop action plans
- Assist credit and collection department with collection efforts
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers
- Manage, coach, mentor, and train direct reports
- Work with team to identify and target customers and products when necessary to meet company sales objectives for growth, margin improvement, or discontinuation of supply
- Maintain timely communication of customer problems or potential problems to sales management and recommend and implement corrective action
Minimum skills / qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or a related field
- Ten (10) years of outside sales experience
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication with the ability to lead and interact with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to identify problems and execute on continuous improvement opportunities
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred skills / qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration or a related field
- Ten (10) years of experience in packaging
- Depth of expertise in sustainability, strengthened through appropriate training and qualifications
- Can work independently and with teams
