Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and IU Health Physicians are seeking an experienced surgeon to join the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery. The appropriate candidate will have leadership responsibilities in addition to providing cardiovascular surgery services for adult cardiac surgical patients with procedures including CABG, Valve Replacement, TAVR, TEVAR, ECMO, VAD, Valve Repair, Aortic and Thoracic Transplant. This is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative group of physicians, in a well-established, fast-paced, academic environment.
Job Duties:
- Adult Cardiovascular Surgery, Thoracic Transplant, Congenital Cardiac with Adult Congenital focus
- Provide service line leadership
- Inpatient, outpatient and OR coverage with shared call
- Support and contribute to a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent processes in place for successful patient outcomes
- Full-time position and academic/clinical rank will commensurate with experience
- Residents will rotate on this service
Basic Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates must have M.D., DO, or equivalent education
- Completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship or integrated program
- American BC/BE in Surgery
- Collaborate and successfully interact with a multi-disciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication skills.
