Program Director - Outreach and Strategic Initiatives

This position plans, develops, and executes learning and development programs and strategic initiatives. The Program Director will work with the broader campus to address emerging areas of need and develop institutional access and engagement initiatives. The incumbent establishes and implements goals based on strategic objectives, develops and manages assigned budgets, creates strategies to evaluate performance and effectiveness, and provides guidance and supervision for support staff.
Examples of Work Performed
- Manages daily operations that support learning and development goals and objectives including developing, scheduling, facilitating, and evaluating trainings.
- Provides support for implementation of division and institutional strategic plans.
- Plans and provides oversight of access and opportunity award and incentives for faculty and staff.
- Leads and supervises professional and graduate staff.
- Develops and coordinates professional development conferences, experiences, resources for faculty and staff development.
- Provides supervisory support to student ambassador programs which includes selection, training, and professional development.
- Creates strategies to evaluate and monitor the advancement of institution and division strategic plan goals and action items.
- Analyzes data and reports to determine trends and contributes to the development of annual reports.
- Provides consultations to academic and administrative units.
- Develops signature efforts to recruit, retain, and advance faculty, staff support in collaboration with EORC, CETL, and other departments.
- Develops and coordinates professional development opportunities for professional staff and graduate students within the division.
- Facilitates communication and networking among staff and faculty to cultivate collaborative relationships.
- Collects and analyzes data for use in making recommendations, assessing progress, reporting to internal or external constituents, and/or developing proposals.
- Develops and manages assigned program budgets.
- Coordinates requests for external outreach on behalf of the division.
- Represents the division and central office on university committees.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions

- Plans, develops, and directs departmental programs and activities.
- Establishes and implements departmental goals and strategic objectives.
- Assesses and manages program risks.
- Provides guidance and direction for support staff.
Education:
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.
Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
