Who You Are:
You have deep knowledge of tax strategies with at least 5 years of experience. You enjoy helping clients and sharing knowledge with your co-workers when you encounter a unique situation that requires you to research and solve a client’s problem.
You are looking to advance to a Principal and help grow your firm.
Responsibilities:
- Review corporation, partnership, individual, and other related tax returns and workpapers for accuracy and completeness
- Engage in tax planning, business planning, and consulting by analyzing proposed transactions and determining tax risk and benefits
- Collaborate with various Practice Group team members to provide business solutions to clients
- Document positions taken on complex tax issues using written communication for inclusion in DHJJ’s online Tax Resource Library
- Undertake tax research of authoritative and non-authoritative sources using a variety of research platforms
- Manage and mentor tax staff
- Collaborate with various Practice Group team members to provide solutions to complex tax situations
- Use experience and expertise to provide thought leadership and meaningful recommendations for a broad scope of complicated issues
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Assist Principals in proposals for prospective clients
- Participate in DHJJ’s ongoing efforts to provide current and timely education to all levels of staff
- Understand DHJJ’s products and services and how to implement them to promote client growth and retention
- Act as an effective spokesperson for DHJJ at network and recruiting events
- Provide thorough and timely client service, meeting or exceeding client expectations
- Strive to consistently demonstrate DHJJ’s core values of Faith, Family, Excellence, Respect, Success, Service and Fun
Required Skills:
- Thorough understanding of federal tax laws and associated regulations and other guidance
- Ability to communicate concepts and ideas to clients and staff clearly and concisely
- Excellent management, team building and organizational skills
- Successful management of multiple client engagements
- Strong sense of ownership and personal accountability
- Produce high-quality work under deadlines
- Particular attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Qualifications:
- CPA required
- 5+ years of related experience
