Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Vice President, Strategy who has a strong background in merchandising as well as business intuition, a collaborative spirit, and experience driving growth for clients. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse strategy background with the ability to drill down to specific insights that drive strategy as it relates to merchandising and bringing products to the market.
This person will be a connector; someone who can enable cross-functional teams to work together on strategic deliverables as well as executable, actionable plans. This role will require an ability to use marketplace insights, consumer insights, and performance data to make informed recommendations that will have a large impact on acquisition.
Additionally, we are seeking someone who brings energy, a strong point of view and is comfortable engaging directly with high-touch clients in the Telco and Consumer Electronics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of strategy that informs when, where and how a brand should connect; redefine communications and orchestrating efforts across channels
- Champion the use of data; partner with data-scientists to understand behaviors and uncover unexpected insight that inspire bold ideas for how a brand should connect
- Analyze how consumers interact with devices, content, technology and media, then develop stories based on the motivation behind those behaviors to reveal what value a brand needs to provide to move people
- Envision and design orchestrated systems of brand communications; collaborate with media planners, technologists, experience designers and creative teams to bring modern communication architectures to life
- Build senior-level client relationships; provide guidance on their competitive threats and evolving consumer behaviors to guide their teams toward the next generation of holistic brand experience solutions that drive business impact
- Develop insights across all research that provides a unique orientation and establishes a framework that actions the insights
- Connect data and insights to overarching strategies, understand the business context and use data to drive informed decision-making
- Connect the dots across a multitude of perspectives; think proactively about future outcomes and anticipate challenges or opportunities
- Balance short-term goals with long-term objectives; think through the tradeoffs of strategies based on staging, pacing and resourcing
- Persuade clients, colleagues and partners to see the world as you see it by presenting winning narratives to senior clients and prospects
- Anticipate and confront obstacles, and find alternative routes to navigate through problems effectively
- As a trusted partner to creatives, actively assist them in successfully selling creative ideas that solve a marketing challenge and make a tangible impact on their business
- Manage the development of direct reports and the team; inspire the belief in one's ability to change and guiding the quality of agency output and its impact
- Establish career partnerships with a key clients that transcends roles and accelerates mutual success.
- Initiate a win theme and inspirational narrative for new business; effectively mobilize cross-functional teams and confidently represent all of strategy in a pitch
Qualifications:
- 12-14+ years of demonstrated success in helping clients grow revenue at scale via merchandising, performance marketing, product marketing and commerce optimizations
- High-level strategic thinker who can balance that perspective with the intensity and focus required to navigate critical phases with the clients
- Sharp, assertive and ready to make impactful changes for the clients
- Ability to adapt approach in real-time to ensure a winning outcome, regardless of the situation or dynamic.
- Demonstrate a knack for identifying emerging trends, anticipating future needs, and developing innovative strategies and solutions outside of client scope
- Ability to think both tactically and strategically through the modern customer acquisition journey
- Expert at planning and executing upon strategies necessary for the achievement of revenue and profit objectives
- Knows how to quantitatively analyze and optimize marketing programs and growth initiatives
- Provide counsel to clients and decisionmakers resulting in a positive impact on their business and our future opportunities
- Mentor and coach employees to ensure personal/team growth and achievement of company goals

Compensation Range: $153,000 - $240,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off. The Company anticipates the application deadline for this job posting will be 10/22/24.
