POSITION: Chief Financial Officer
DEPARTMENT: Executive Management
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt (On-Site)
SUMMARY: Assist the Chief Executive Officer with the overall management of the Orange Bowl Committee.
Essential Functions:
Executive
- Serve on OBC executive management team.
- Assist the Chief Executive Officer with long-term strategic analysis and goal-setting process.
Financial Management
- Direct supervision of Controller.
- Oversight and management of daily business office operations.
- Manage compliance of the approved OBC Business Policies and Procedures.
- Serve as the primary staff liaison to the following Board Committees: Finance Committee, Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee and Investment Committee.
- Manage, produce and distribute monthly financial reports to Treasurer (an OBC Officer and Board position), CAO, CMO, COO and CEO.
- Meet at least quarterly with the Treasurer and CEO in advance of Finance Committee Meetings.
- Present quarterly financial statements to the Finance Committee.
- Review financial reports for variances.
- Ensure A/R, A/P and balance sheet accounts including but not limited to withholding, accrual, deferred and prepaid expenses are reviewed on a timely basis.
- Develop annual operating budget with executive management team.
- Oversight of budget revision and budget adjustment processes.
- Oversight of annual financial audit.
- Review semi-monthly payroll process.
- Manage OCIO as per the policy established by the Investment Committee.
- Direct cash management operations.
- Review bank operating account reconciliations.
- Ensure that all accounts receivables are collected on a timely basis.
- Ensure that processes exist that enable timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Review and approval of sales order process.
- Conduct financial settlements with venues and collaborators (e.g., Hard Rock Stadium, Amerant Center, Boca Raton Bowl and CFP).
- Develop financial analysis and fiscal year financial projections.
- Facilitate periodic review of OBC Business Policies & Procedures Manual.
Legal Management
- Join the CEO as a liaison to the Legal Committee.
- Review legal implications of all Orange Bowl Committee contracts.
- Serve as the primary staff liaison to outside legal counsel.
- Bring all significant legal issues to the attention of the OBC Secretary and CEO.
Risk Management
- Oversight of OBC insurance and risk management program.
Human Resource Management
- Join the CEO as a liaison to the Human Resources Committee.
- Direct supervision of the Human Resources department.
- Oversight of OBC personnel program including but not limited to wages, health insurance, disability, retirement, leave, employee relations, employee reviews and employee development programs.
- Facilitate periodic review of OBC Human Resources Manual.
Information Technology
- Oversight of the technology infrastructure.
- Manage IT budgets and capital investments.
- Ensuring data security and compliance.
- Manage outside IT consultants.
Other
- Assistance on special projects as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Representation at various South Florida business functions.
- Representation at select industry conventions, conference meetings, business seminars, and related business trips.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Ensure facilities are adequately maintained and that all permits and licenses are timely renewed.
- Effectively head Crisis Management Team as necessary.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters and CPA preferred, plus ten (10) plus years’ experience.
