This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. As another benefit to our employees, we have a 7-hour per day/35-hour work week.
Position Summary:
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer provides leadership, direction and coordination of all operational activities of the company in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Chief Executive Officer. The job requires strong interpersonal, project management, and negotiation skills so as to build alliances within the executive management leadership team and our key stakeholders. Working in close partnership with the Chief Executive Officer, this position requires a high level of business management and leadership skills with responsibility to managerially assist in the day-to-day administrative operations of the organization in support of the strategic goals of CRIHB.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrated business management experience preferably with an understanding of the not-for-profit community sector and its compliance framework.
- Assist the CEO assuring the organizational integrity of CRIHB management systems and implantation activities.
- Assist the CEO developing proposals to overcome the unmet health needs through available health resources.
- Demonstrate financial, operational and people management skills.
- Experience of continuous quality improvement processes ideally within the framework of meeting national standards.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills with flexibility to the range of competing demands.
- An understanding of the importance an online presence has in developing relationships, disseminating information and engaging stakeholders.
- High level computer literacy skills.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in a similar role.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and ability to be insurable under CRIHB’s automobile insurance.
- Position requires occasional overnight travel within CRIHB’s service area.
- Requires ability to drive up to 7 hours a day.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration or healthcare field and at least 3 years’ experience in a senior level management; OR Bachelor’s degree in business administration or healthcare field and at least 5 years’ experience in senior level management.
- Demonstrated administrative abilities including attention to detail and organization.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Creative and flexible problem solver. Able to anticipate needs, identify issues impeding success and propose creative, viable solutions. Analytic skills including performance measurement, analysis and display (such as through the use of dashboards) is required.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with people with varying levels of education.
- Excellent organizational, managerial skills required. Ability to meet deadlines. Planning, organization and prioritization.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams. Ability to identify needs and provide appropriate training or technical assistance support.
- Demonstrated excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work well under pressure, works with multiple constituencies, and communicates effectively.
This position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
Preference in hiring is given to qualified American Indians in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, U.S. Code, Sections 472 and 473). Applicants claiming Indian Preference must submit Indian verification, certified by Tribe of affiliation or other acceptable documentation of Indian heritage.
